    Mount Annan Farmers Market

Driving along Narellan Road last week I saw a sign advertising for a farmer’s market. What was this I wondered. Unfortunately I drove past the sign before I could read everything on it.

A bit of research and I now know what it is all about.

Starting this Sunday 12th Oct from 10am to 4pm (and then every Sunday)

at the Macarthur Centre for Sustainable Living, there will be stalls

displaying fresh produce from local farmers for sale.

The markets have been arranged by the Macarthur Regional Farmers Market Association.

What sort of produce will be available? At the moment free range eggs, mushrooms, most leafy vegetables, cabbage, cauliflower, pumpkin, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, capsicums, seasonal fruit, bread, sweet treats, jams and chutneys. With that large versatile range of produce, I think there will be something for everyone, no matter what sort of diet you have.

The Macarthur Centre for Sustainable living is located at 1 Mount Annan Drive, Mount Annan (just off Narellan Rd, see map below).

I believe in supporting locals, so get down there and check it out this Sunday.

NRMA’s worst roads of NSW report

Some not so surprising results from a recent survey performed by NRMA.

Recently the motoring association conducted a survey to ask what the worst road in NSW was.  More than 12 000 motorists took part in the survey, with results coming in as follows:

        1. Pacific Highway at Coffs Harbour
        2. Pennant Hills Road at Pennant Hills
        3. Parramatta Road at Concord
        4. Princes Highway at Albion Park
        5. Barton Highway at Murrumbateman
        6. Kings Highway at Braidwood
        7. Bucketts Way at Allworth
        8. M5 Motorway at Revesby
        9. Narellan Road at Campbelltown
        10. M4 Western Motorway at Granville

Another road frequented by locals in the macarthur region also appears in the list, being the M5 coming in at number 8.

It’s not the first time Narellan Rd has been voted this way. In 2013, it was named Macarthur’s worst road , and in 2012 voted the worst road in South West Sydney, again by a survey by the NRMA.

Unfortunately things won’t get better for a while with roadworks only recently started on Narellan Road (see our other post here), but fingers crossed will be better once completed.

What do you think? Should it be further up the list. Leave a comment below.
