5th June 2016 storm – One Year On

It’s hard to believe that it was one year ago today (In fact June 5 last year was a Sunday) that we had a massive dump of water in the Macarthur area.

I know we had a lot then but I had to see for myself how much so I checked out the Bureau of Meteorology archive pages. On June 56, 141mm of rain was recorded, with 139.8 mm the following day!

Some areas copped a lot more than  we did, one of them being Picton. I don’t think Picton has fully recovered, and there is a great article in the Wollondily Advertiser today.

Below are some pictures I took on the day around Mount Annan after I went to help a friend that had been affected by the rain.

This one is of the walkway in Birriwa Reserve that goes under Waterworth Dr (the cricket nets are on the far left)
