1-5 Main Street Mount Annan DA Sept 2017

A new Development Application (DA) has been lodged for the site of 1-5 Main St Mount Annan. Read on for more information and how you can have your say.

As you may be aware, a previous DA for the vacant site next to Mt Annan Marketplace was unsuccessful last year (more info here), but a new one was lodged earlier this month.

From the council website, the DA includes:

  • Construction of a two storey multi-dwelling housing development containing 143 dwellings;
  • All dwellings range in floor area between 187m2 and 191 m2 with three different dwelling types. All dwellings contain three bedrooms and also contain a study and/or multi-purpose room;
  • 317 car parking spaces including 286 resident spaces and 31 visitor spaces;
  • Community title subdivision to create individual allotments for each dwelling, a community title lot for open space and a drainage reserve; and
  • Associated site works including earthworks, drainage, road construction, vehicular access and landscaping

The Development Application is on public notification from 27 September 2017 until 26 October 2017, and all the relevant documentation can be found here.

One important note with this DA is that the decision to proceed will be made by the Sydney South West Planning Panel and not Council.

Most residents in the area located near the development should of received notification of this DA in the mail by now:

You, as a resident have a right to say what you think of the DA by way of submission.

Some important information regarding making a submission:

– DUE BY 4PM 26TH OCTOBER 2017
– Submissions must be in writing.
– It must be addressed to the General Manager
– It can be posted to: PO Box 183, Camden 2570
– It can be emailed to: mail@camden.nsw.gov.au
– It can be faxed to: 02 4654 7829
– Submissions must clearly indicate your name and address, a contact phone number and email address where available (you may write individual submissions if you all live at the one address – this is a good idea as the more submissions, the better)
– Submissions must include the development application number: 2017/1193/1
– You must clearly state whether you accept or oppose the development application and your reasons why
– You don’t need to live near the development to write a submission. Anyone that is affected in some way can!

Remember, don’t be intimidated by this process; just write down your reasons why – you live here and know what the problems/concerns will be. Be as detailed as you can.
