Goodbye WInter and Hello Magpies

It’s great to see the end of winter (not that it was a cold one this year), but September means Magpie breeding season.

Magpies are very protective of their nests and love to swoop on people if they feel the nests are being threatened. If you are swooped on by one,  protect your eyes and head.

Quickly move on but be aware of where the bird(s) are, and if you see others heading to the same area, warn them.

One that I have come across many a time in the last couple of weeks is at the old entrance to the botanical gardens – between there and the old entrance office where you used to pay.

Please share any other areas to be careful at, but in the meantime, enjoy the great sunset that we often get a good view of here in Mount Annan.
