With the long weekend coming up due to Australia Day, there are many events on in the Macarthur area where you can celebrate with your  fellow Australians. Hopefully the weather will hold up, with it looking to be not too hot a weekend coming up.

John St Camden looks to be pick of the locations to go to with a lot of activities planned for a fun packed day, with kicks off at 8am.

The list of free activities include face painting, roving entertainment, mini putt putt golf, rock climbing, jumping castles, tattoos, a Thong Throwing competition and market stalls all in line with an Australiana theme. Aussie cover band, Mad Rhino, will be also be performing a range of Australian hit songs.

The program, as listed on the Camden council website :

8am – 1pm          FREE entertainment and activities in John Street, Camden
8.30am                Australia Day Thanksgiving Service by The Christian Community of Camden
9.15am                 Official Ceremony
11.15am               Macarthur Lions Street Parade, Argyle Street, Camden

 

Elsewhere in the Macarthur area, events can be found at the following locations on Australia Day:

Koshigaya Park, Campbelltown: 8am to 10am – Australia Day awards, citizenship ceremony and free BBQ

Greg Percival Community Centre, Ingleburn: 11am to 2pm – citizenship ceremony, games, music, activities and free BBQ

Koshigaya Park, Campbelltown: 4pm to 9.30pm – entertainment, stalls, free rides and fireworks

The entertainment includes: 4pm Macarthur talent showcase, 6pm Blinky Bill’s singalong, 6.40pm Stars from Oz, 7.30pm Under Wraps, 8.30pm Endless Summer Party Band, and then the family favourite fireworks at 9pm. The Endless Summer Party Band will again perform at 9.10pm with the day’s events concluding at 9.30pm
