Train Station at the Botantical Gardens?

A great idea in conjunction with the idea of a road between the Camden Bypass to the M5  – a train station at the botanical gardens?

Wait? What?

The Advertiser have been running a campaign to get a road built from Camden Bypass to the M5 motorway and Menangle Road in order to alleviate what we all know as the Narellan road ‘parking lot’. The has sparked much interest and discussion over the last few weeks.

Combine this with the idea of an extension of the rail line from Macarthur to the southern end of the Botanical Gardens, and you have a potentially a great way to substantially reduce the amount of traffic on Narellan Road.

A large number of rail commuters come from Camden, Narellan and Mount Annan, and this idea would eliminate them having to travel down Narellan Road to Campbelltown and Macarthur stations.

Check out the Advertiser’s article for more detailed information.

What do you think of the idea? Is it feasible? Would it reduce the traffic on Narellan Road?
