Some not so surprising results from a recent survey performed by NRMA.
Recently the motoring association conducted a survey to ask what the worst road in NSW was. More than 12 000 motorists took part in the survey, with results coming in as follows:
- Pacific Highway at Coffs Harbour
- Pennant Hills Road at Pennant Hills
- Parramatta Road at Concord
- Princes Highway at Albion Park
- Barton Highway at Murrumbateman
- Kings Highway at Braidwood
- Bucketts Way at Allworth
- M5 Motorway at Revesby
- Narellan Road at Campbelltown
- M4 Western Motorway at Granville
Another road frequented by locals in the macarthur region also appears in the list, being the M5 coming in at number 8.
It’s not the first time Narellan Rd has been voted this way. In 2013, it was named Macarthur’s worst road , and in 2012 voted the worst road in South West Sydney, again by a survey by the NRMA.
Unfortunately things won’t get better for a while with roadworks only recently started on Narellan Road (see our other post here), but fingers crossed will be better once completed.
What do you think? Should it be further up the list. Leave a comment below.
The other roads probably deserve their higher ranking, and I suspect there are a few more not on the list that are more congested than Narellan Road and have been for longer (e.g. around Ryde and Epping), but Narellan Road is catching up fast to their levels of congestion. More lanes might help a bit, but will ultimately lead to more vehicles queuing at the intersections. Alternative road(s) to get across the M5 are needed.
I agree. Pennant Hills rd deserves to be where it is. I dread the times I need to go on that road.
